School Hours

Regular school hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for Kindergarten through Grade 8.  Scheduled early dismissals are at 12:00 p.m.  Early dismissals will be listed on the monthly calendar.

Students may begin arriving in the school yard no earlier than 7:40 a.m.  A faculty member will not be present in the school yard prior to 7:40 so we request that students do not arrive before 7:40 a.m.  The school bell rings at 8:00 a.m.  During inclement weather, students may report directly to their classroom.  For Preschool hours, please checkout our Preschool information page.

The school office may be contacted between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.  Please leave a voice mail message if you are contacting the office outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Should it be necessary to either delay opening or to close HMS due to inclement weather prior to the start of the school day, please tune in to KYW Newsradio 1060 (AM radio), go to their website:  KYW1060.com and enter 1111 or call KYW at 215-224-1060 during peak hours.  You can also tune into WPVI-Channel 6 (television) or go to their website:  http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/  for more info.

 If HMS needs to close during the school day due to inclement weather or any other type of emergency, a radio or television announcement may be made.  Regardless of an announcement, parents will receive a telephone call.  For this reason all phone numbers, including work and cell numbers, need to be kept current with the school office.  Students will be cared for by school personnel until they can be safely picked up.

If your child is bussed to HMS, please be sure to check on school closings and delays for the school district that provides bus service for your child.  Closings and delays may vary from township to township; you need to verify whether your bus will be running in the event of inclement weather.  

Tuition Rates

Holy Martyrs School tuition can be paid in ten monthly payments, or if you choose, you can pay the full tuition in July.   Payments are due on the 15th of each month beginning in July and ending in April.

July and August tuition for all students must be paid prior to the first day of school in September.  Upon receipt of the July and August payments, students will be mailed an admission card which must be presented on the first day of school. Tuition rates are set forth below for parishioners and non-parishioners, and for Kindergarten through Grade 8 and Preschool.

 

Fees:  In addition to the monthly tuition, there is a one-time $100.00 fee for each Kindergarten student and a $100.00 graduation fee for each Grade 8 student to be paid prior to the first day of school. 

Tuition payments should either be placed in the Sunday collection basket or mailed to:   Holy Martyrs Rectory - Attn:  Tuition Office, 120 Allison Road, Oreland, PA 19075.

If your check is returned for any reason, a $25 check return fee will be added to your tuition account.

 

Tuition Assistance:  Tuition Assistance is available for students in KIndergarten through Grade 8.  If you are in need of tuition assistance, please call the school office for a packet.  All financial information and applications are confidential.
