HMS SCRIP Program

What is SCRIP?  SCRIP is a very simple way to raise money for school, while also giving parents an opportunity to earn a tuition credit for participating in the program.

The term SCRIP describes gift certificates and gift cards that HMS purchases at a discount from retailers.  School and parish families can then purchase the SCRIP at face value, thereby recognizing a profit for our school.  Profits realized from this program are split equally between HMS and participating families.  Your family will receive a tuition credit based upon the amount and type of SCRIP that you purchase throughout the school year.  It's an easy way to raise money for our school, reduce your tuition bill and there is no added expense for participating families.

What are the benefits of utilizing the HMS SCRIP Program?

·          You will receive Tuition Credits based on how much SCRIP you purchase

·          SCRIP can be used for your regular shopping needs

·          SCRIP makes a great gift - and you don't need to go to the mall to buy the gift certificate!

·          Your family members and friends can purchase SCRIP through you, allowing you to earn tuition credits for their      

         purchases, or they can use the tuition credits towards the school of their choice

Can my tuition credit go towards another school?  Yes.  If you are purchasing SCRIP and your child will be attending another Catholic or Private School for the next school year - hold onto your tuition voucher and when you have made a decision for your child's next school year, notify the SCRIP coordinator and a check will be issued to that school for your to enclose with your tuition payment.

If your child presently attends another Catholic or Private elementary or high school, you will receive a tuition voucher and after you verify the name of the school and your tuition ID#, we will issue a check to you, made payable to that school.  Upon receipt, just enclose that check along with your check for the difference and forward it to the school with your next tuition payment.

What retailers participate in the SCRIP Program? 

The following are just a few of the many stores for which HMS carries SCRIP. 

How can I pay for SCRIP?  If you are a registered school family or a registered parish family, you may pay by personal check or cash.  If a friend, co-worker or family member is purchasing SCRIP through you, they may also pay by check.  However, we reserve the right to hold their SCRIP order for one week to ensure sufficient funds for their personal check.  This applies only to first-time and/or large SCRIP orders made by any non-school family.

 

How do I receive the tuition credits for my HMS tuition bill?   Your SCRIP account will be tallied in January and you will receive a SCRIP Tuition Credit Voucher based on your SCRIP purchases for the previous calendar year.

If your tuition credit is going towards your HMS tuition, you can do one of the following:

    If you make Monthly Tuition Payments:  Just enclose the tuition voucher along with your check for the difference when your next tuition payment is due.

    If you have previously Paid Your Tuition In Full for the year you can:

        a)  Save your voucher and enclose it with your check for the difference when remitting the following year's tuition payment.  OR

        b)  You can give the credit amount directly to the school by sending the voucher to Deb McGrath along with a note

             stating that you would like to donate your credit back to the school.

        c)  You can donate your tuition credit to another school family.

        d)  You can give the credit amount directly to reduce the Parish Debt.  Just state that on your order form when purchasing Scrip.
